This geometric logo mark project was a pure brand symbol brief — no wordmark, no supporting text, just a standalone geometric mark that had to carry the complete visual weight of the brand through shape alone.
This is a specific and demanding kind of logo project. Without a name to anchor meaning, the symbol must communicate brand character entirely through its form: the proportions, the balance of positive and negative space, the visual weight at different scales. Every decision is visible, and there is nowhere to hide.
Grid-first geometric construction
The mark was built on a strict mathematical grid — the foundation of every geometric logo we design. Working from the grid:
- All proportions are derived from the same mathematical relationships, giving the mark inherent visual harmony
- Every element can be reproduced exactly by any designer working from the source files
- The mark scales perfectly because its proportions are mathematically defined, not eyeballed
Geometric logos that were not built on a grid always reveal their origins at large scale — proportional inconsistencies that looked acceptable at screen size become visible imprecision at print or display scale.
Negative space as design element
In a geometric mark, negative space is not the absence of design — it is half the design. The negative space within and around the form determines the visual weight of the mark, how it reads on different backgrounds, and how it holds up in embossed or engraved contexts.
The negative space in this mark was designed with the same care as the positive form: proportioned to maintain visual balance, calibrated to work in both light-background and dark-background contexts, and tested to ensure clean reproduction in single-colour embossing and engraving.

Scale testing: 16px to 16 metres
Every geometric mark we design is tested at the full range of deployment scales before delivery:
- 16px — browser favicon, app icon at smallest standard size
- 32px and 64px — standard app icon and social media avatar contexts
- Screen sizes — website header, email signature, digital marketing
- Print sizes — business card, letterhead, small packaging label
- Large format — signage, exhibition, vehicle livery
A mark that only works at the size it was designed at is not a finished mark.
